Based on a specific research project by Manchester Business School, £25m notional equity investment in all Amin Amiri's deals completed between 1991 and 1996 would yield £177m, representing a 96% IRR. The average BVCA return for the same period was 22% IRR.
Note - only one MBI/MBO, Bilton's Tableware, has either not performed or ever gone into receivership (average for industry c. 30%). Cammell Laird Plc went into receivership in March 2001, 4 years after floating and switching to another firm.
